Civilian Responder Medical Course

This 8-hour course focuses on CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), AED use, and “Stop the Bleed” training for the Civilian Responder. It includes various phases of care while under duress, and in which type of intervention is appropriate for each phase.

Course participants use realistic simulators and animal tissues to practice wound packing and management of arterial bleeding. This helps them better understand how tissue reacts to manipulation.

Attendees will receive an AHA CPR certification that is valid for two years and a Stop the Bleed Certificate. They will also receive a North American Rescue MFAK kit with CAT7 NAR TQ, Z-Fold or Quick Clot Combat Gauze, NAR Pressure Bandage, and NAR Hyfin Vent chest Seals.

All TECC guidelines will be discussed at all levels of the Civilian Responder Course.

Pre-Requisites:
This course is open to all civilian, law enforcement, and security personnel interested in elevating their scope of practice as a civilian responder.

Course Objectives:
To increase the awareness and scope of practice for anyone in a position as a civilian responder, armed or unarmed doesn’t matter.

American Heart Association CPR Certification (valid for two years)

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (AHA BLS)

This course provides training and standards for early assessment of life-threatening emergencies. Training covers identifying and those potentially in need of CPR, defibrillation (AED), and rescue breathing with the appropriate devices for adults, children, and infants.

Additional training covers choking in adults, children and infants is also covered, as is the overall Chain of Survival. The course fee includes an AHA BLS/CPR card at the end of the course via email which is valid for two years.

This training is recommended for corporations looking to increase their employees’ ability to provide CPR interventions in the workplace.

Time Schedule:
3.5 to 4 hours

Pre-Requisites:
This course is open to all civilians, law enforcement, and security personnel.

Course Objectives:
Quickly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED.

Course Outcomes:
American Heart Association BLS/CPR Card (Valid for two years)

Defensive Pistol & Wound Management

This course focuses on defensive pistol fundamentals. It includes shooting around or behind barriers, from the ground, and from compromised positions. It also includes shooting strong side and support side only.

There is also a heavy emphasis on first aid that covers mitigating bleeding, performing self-aid, and buddy aid in the active shooter environment.

All participants will learn how to apply tourniquets, pack wounds, and apply pressure dressings while under duress and in their relevant zones of fire. This is a dynamic 1-day course suited for intermediate and advanced shooters only.

All participants will receive a Level 1 Training Certificate based on current TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) guidelines and an IFAK from North American Rescue.

The estimated round count is 200 rounds.

9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Pre-Requisites:
– Open to all Law Enforcement, Private Security, and Civilians 18 years of age or older.
– Students must be able to demonstrate safe handling and weapons manipulation skills.
– No prior medical training is required
– Anyone not demonstrating safe handling skills will not be allowed to participate in the trauma lanes in the second half of the day.

– Shooting from cover/ concealment positions
– Magazine changes / Reloads
– Strong and support side shooting
– Shooting positions
– Engaging multiple targets in compressed environments

Course Outcomes:
Level 1 Training Certificate based on TECC Guidelines
North American Rescue Individual First Aid Kit

Loadout:
– A well maintained and operational handgun
– Gun belt and quality Kydex holster preferred (Serpa holsters will not be allowed)
– 3 pistol magazines
– Magazine holders / pouches
– Eye & ear protection
– 200 rounds
– Please wear range appropriate attire. No open toe shoes or low-cut tops, tank tops etc…
